Sunderland FC

Sunderland Association Football Club was founded in 1879 and currently (2013-14 season) compete in the Premier League, the top tier of English football. The club have won six First Division Titles and the FA Cup twice. The club play their home matches at the 49,000 capacity Stadium of Light having moved from Roker Park in 1997.

St Peters railway station is a short walk to the Stadium of Light.
