East Midlands Airport

East Midlands Airport is located at Castle Donington in north west Leicestershire and lies between the cities of Derby (8 miles to the south east), Leicester and Nottingham. The airport mainly serves the counties of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and South Yorkshire. By passenger numbers it was the UK's 13th busiest airport in 2012 but the second busiest for freight. The airport has established itself as a hub for low fare airlines such as Jet2.com and Ryanair and to tour operators such as Thomson Airways and Thomas Cook Airlines.

East Midlands Parkway railway station is a 20 minute taxi journey to the airport.
