Darlington Football Club was founded in 1883 and is based in Darlington, County Durham. The club moved to its current 25,000 seat stadium, the Darlington Arena, in 2003. Following a period in administration in 2012 the club was forced to change its name. The name chosen was Darlington 1883 and currently (2013-14 season) competes in the Northern League Division One, the ninth tier of English Football.
