Crewe Alexandra

Crewe Alexandra Football Club were founded in 1877 and are reputedly named after Princess Alexandra. The team are nicknames The Railwaymen due to the town's links with the rail industry. The team currently (2013-14 season) compete in the Football League One, the third tier of English Football. Home matches are played at the Alexandra Stadium and has a capacity of 10,153.

Crewe railway station is a five minute walk to the football stadium.
