Cartmel racecourse

Cartmel Racecourse is located in the village of Cartmel in Cumbria. It is thought racing has taken place at Cartmel since 1856. Although the racecourse is small, it is noted as having a four furlong run-in, the longest in Britain. For a small racecourse Cartmel attracts relatively huge crowds of 20/25,000.

From Cark-in-Cartmel and Grange-over-Sands railway stations take the raceday bus service directly to the racecourse.
