Canterbury Cathedral in Kent is one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England. The cathedral was founded in 597 and was completely rebuilt from 1070 to 1077. The cathedral underwent a series of reconstruction until the late fourteenth century when all pre-existing structures were demolished to make way for the present structure. It is the cathedral of the Archbishop of Canterbury, leader of the Church of England.
