About Avignon and the train services available
Avignon is in south eastern France in the department of the Vaucluse and is situated on the left bank of the Rhone River. The city is some 580 km to the south east of Paris, 229 km to the south of Lyon and 85 km to the north west of Marseille.
Avignon has two railway stations. Gare d'Avignon-Centre is located in the centre of the town and is operated by SNCF and offers regional services towards Narbonne, Béziers, Montpellier and Nîmes.
