Reading railway station, operated by Network Rail, is a major railway station and transport hub that serves the town of Reading in Berkshire. The station lies on the Great Western Main Line which connects London Paddington station to the west of England and South Wales. The station is located on the northern edge of the town centre close to the main commercial and retail areas of the town. The station has a staffed ticket office although passengers should note that it is not open in the late evening. Passengers are able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station. Facilities at the station include ATM's, pay phones, public wifi, cafe, shops, toilets and baby changing facilities. Adjacent to the station is a bus interchange which is served by many of Reading's bus services.Passenger services calling at the station are operated by CrossCountry, First Great Western and South West Trains.
