Peterborough Train Station

Peterborough railway station, operated by East Coast, serves the Cambridgeshire city of Peterborough and lies on the East Coast Main Line which connects London to Peterborough, Doncaster, Wakefield, Leeds, York, Darlington, Newcastle and Edinburgh. In additional to being located on the East Coast Main Line the station is also on the East-West long distance and local services. The station has a staffed ticket office although passengers should note that it is not open in the late evening. Passengers are able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.

Facilities at the station include ATM's, pay phones, refreshments, shops, toilets and baby changing facilities. The city centre and the Queensgate shopping centre in a few minutes walk from the station.

Passenger services calling at the station are operated by CrossCountry, East Coast, East Midlands Trains, First Capital Connect and Greater Anglia. Passenger services generally depart towards London King's Cross, Leeds, Newcastle Central, Edinburgh Waverley, York, Cambridge, Manchester Piccadilly, Liverpool Lime Street, Nottingham, Sheffield, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.

Parking is available at the station for 731 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day.

Cambridge Train Station

Located in Cambridgeshire, Cambridge railway station offers passengers services to destinations including Ely, King's Lynn, Birmingham New Street, London King's Cross, London Liverpool Street, Norwich, Ipswich, Stanstead Airport, Leicester, Peterborough, Stratford and Tottenham Hale.

The station, operated by Greater Anglia, lies on the Fen Line to King's Lyn, the Breckland Line to Norwich, the Cambridge Line with services to London King's Cross and the West Anglia Main Line to London Liverpool Street. Passenger services calling at the station are operated by Greater Anglia, CrossCountry and First Capital Connect.

Facilities at the station include ATM's, pay phones, public wifi, a cafe, shops, toilets and baby changing facilities. Parking is available at the station for 374 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day. Several bus services stop outside the main station building, linking the railway with the city centre and other parts of Cambridge, including Addenbrooke's Hospital. Buses also travel from the station out of the city to Sawston, Saffron Walden and Imperial War Museum Duxford to the south and Histon and Impington and Cottenham to the north.

The station was opened by the Eastern Counties Railway in 1845 and its station building with its long classical facade and porte-cochere is Grade II listed.
