Leeds Durham Train

Leeds railway station, operated by Network Rail, is the main line station serving the West Yorkshire city of Leeds. The station is situated in the city centre, on New Station Street, and lies on the Leeds Branch of the East Coast Main Line, and a number of other lines on the rail network. The station has a staffed ticket office and passengers are also able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.

Facilities at the station include ATM's, a First Class Lounge, pay phones, public wifi, cafe, shops, toilets and baby changing facilities. Leeds Interchange, located at the New Station Street exit, provides onward transport connections, by bus, from the station. Further bus stops are located on Neville Street below the station, as well as around City Square outside the station.

The station provides passengers with services to major cities across the UK and also to many regional destinations across Yorkshire. Destinations available include London, Birmingham, Derby, Nottingham, Reading, Bristol, Plymouth, Exeter, Liverpool, Hull, Doncaster, Sheffield and York. These services are operated by CrossCountry, East Coast, East Midlands Trains, First TransPennine Express and Northern Rail.

Parking is available at the station for 299 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day.

Located in the north east of England, Durham railway station offers passengers services to destinations including Newcastle Central, Edinburgh Waverley, London King's Cross, York, Reading, Doncaster, Reading, Plymouth, Leeds, Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Victoria and Darlington. The travel time to London King's Cross, on an East Coast high speed service, is roughly three hours.

Durham railway station, operated by East Coast, is located on the East Coast Main Line which connects London, Peterborough, Doncaster, Wakefield, Leeds, York, Darlington, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Passenger services calling at the station are operated by East Coast, CrossCountry, First TransPennine Express and Northern Rail.

The current station was originally built in 1857 but was preceded by three other railway stations in the city, none of which survive today. These stations are Gilesgate in the city which was closed in the 1850's, Shincliffe Town in nearby Shincliffe which was closed in the 1950's and Durham Elvet which was also closed in the 1950's.
