Blackpool North Train Station

Blackpool North railway station, operated by Northern Rail, serves the coastal resort of Blackpool in Lancashire, England. The station is the main terminus of the Blackpool branch line from Preston. The station has a staffed ticket office although passengers should note that it is not open in the late evening. Passengers are able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.

Facilities at the station include pay phones, refreshments and toilets. Passengers should note that ATM's and baby changing facilities are not available.

Passenger services calling at the station are operated by Northern Rail and First TransPennine Express and destinations include York via Burnley, Bradford Interchange, Leeds, Liverpool Lime Street via St Helens Central, Manchester Victoria via Chorley, Hazel Grove via Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.

Passengers will soon be able to use Blackpool North as a through station for services to London after the Blackpool-Preston Line is upgraded. This is proposed to begin in 2017 and will be operated by Alliance Rail, which trades as great North Western Railway Company (GNWR).

Parking is available at the station for 30 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day.

Manchester Piccadilly Train Station

Located in the north west of England, Manchester Piccadilly railway station offers passengers services to destinations including Sheffield, Buxton, Manchester Airport, Liverpool Lime Street, Southport, Wigan, Llandudno, Pembroke Dock, Stafford, Birmingham New Street, Birmingham International, Nottingham, Norwich and London Euston.

Manchester Piccadilly railway station is operated by Network Rail and operates inter city routes to London, Birmingham, Bristol, South Wales, the south coast of England, Scotland and to destinations throughout the north of England. Passenger services calling at the station are operated by Arriva Trains Wales, CrossCountry, East Midlands Trains, First TransPennine Express, Northern Rail and Virgin Trains.

Facilities at the airport include ATM's, First Class Lounge, pay phones, public wifi, cafes and shops, toilets and baby changing facilities. Parking is available at the station for 856 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day. The station is accessible for disabled people and has escalators and lifts to all levels, wide-access doors and gates, braille signs, hearing loops and disabled toilet facilities. Cycle racks are available on Fairfield Street and the long-stay car park and next to the tower block at the station front. In March 2010, Manchester City Council and Network Rail unveiled plans for a 'Cycle Centre' to provide secure facilities, with maintenance and hire services.
