York Train Station

York railway station, operated by East Coast, serves the historic North Yorkshire city of York. The station lies on the East Coast Main Line which connects London to Peterborough, Doncaster, Wakefield, Leeds, York, Darlington, Newcastle and Edinburgh. The station is roughly 190 miles from both London and Edinburgh. The station has a staffed ticket office although passengers should note that it is not open in the late evening. Passengers are able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.

All platforms except 9, 10 and 11 are under the large, curved, glass and iron roof and are accessed via a long footbridge (which also connects to the National Railway Museum) or via lifts and either of two pedestrian tunnels.

Facilities at the station include ATM's, pay phones, public wifi, cafe, shops, toilets and baby changing facilities.

Passenger services calling at the station are operated by CrossCountry, East Midlands Trains, First TransPennine Express, Grand Central, East Coast and Northern Rail. Between them passenger services depart towards Durham, Newcastle Central, London King's Cross, Doncaster, Aberdeen, Penzance, Southampton Central, Leeds, Birmingham New Street, Bristol Temple Meads, Exeter St Davids, Reading, Manchester Piccadilly, Liverpool Lime Street, Hartlepool, Sunderland and Blackpool North.

Parking is available at the station for 604 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day.

Manchester Airport Train Station

Located in the north west of England, Manchester Airport railway station offers passengers destinations including Crewe (for connections to the south of the UK), Manchester Piccadilly, Carlisle, Glasgow Central , Edinburgh Waverley, York, Doncaster, Sheffield, Blackpool North and Skegness.

Manchester Airport railway station is operated by First TransPennine Express and is built into the airport's terminal building which makes it easy and quick to access to airport from the station. The station is located at the end of a short branch of the Styal Line which runs from Slade Lane Junction, some 2 km south of Manchester Piccadilly, to Wilmslow. Passenger services calling at the station are operated by First TransPennine Express, Northern Rail and Arriva Trains Wales.

Infrastructure developments that are part of the Northern Hub system of schemes should allow direct trains to Manchester Victoria and on towards Bradford from December 2016.

Facilities at the airport include ATM's, bureau de change, pay phones, cafe and shops, toilets and baby changing facilities. There are no car parking facilities at the station although they do exist within the airport complex.
