Destinations available include Glasgow Central, Edinburgh Waverley, Birmingham New Street, Preston, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Manchester Piccadilly, Stockport, Liverpool Lime Street, Chester, Tring, Milton Keynes Central, Northampton and Watford Junction. Overnight sleeper services are also available to Aberdeen via Kilkcaldy and Dundee, Fort William via Dalmuir and Inverness via Stirling and Perth.Parking is available at the station for 217 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day.

The tracks are above street level and access to the six platforms is via a subway and stairs. Recently the goods lifts were modified to allow public use.
