The station is located on the Old Warwick Road on the southern edge of the town. The station has a staffed ticket office although passengers should note that it is not open in the late evening. The present art deco- style station has four platforms. Platforms 1 and 4 are used only by local trains to and from Birmingham Snow Hill or Stratford-upon-Avon starting or terminating at Leamington. Platforms 2 two is used by services to Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham Snow Hill or Coventry, Birmingham New Street and beyond. Finally, platform 3 is for departures to Banbury and London Marylebone or Reading.

Trains cross the River Tyne on one of two bridges. The older High Level Bridge south-east of the station and the King Edward VII Bridge south-west of the station.
