Edinburgh Waverley, operated by Network Rail, is the main railway station serving Edinburgh, Scotland. The station is located in the heart of historic Edinburgh and lies at the northern end of the East Coast Main Line which connects London, Peterborough, Doncaster, Wakefield, Leeds, York, Darlington, Newcastle and Edinburgh. The station is also the second largest main line station in the UK in terms of area. The largest is London Waterloo. The station has a staffed ticket office and passengers are also able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.

Princes Street, the premier shopping street in Edinburgh, runs along one side of the station and North Bridge, a three-span iron and steel bridge constructed in 1897, passes over the station's eastern section.
